TARGET KETTLE VOLUME: 11.5 litres

TARGET PACKAGED VOLUME: 9 litres

STRIKE VOLUME: 22.6 litres / 233mm @ 71.6°C

SPARGE VOLUME: 3 litres taken from the strike water

CHILLING VOLUME: 4 litres @ 5°C

MASH: 67°C / 90 minutes, power level 2, large hob, lid on

BOIL: 120 minutes @ power level 9, 60 minutes @ power level 10

FININGS: 1/2 Protafloc tablet

CHILLED: Yes

FERMENTER TRANSFER:  Full

YEAST: 1x CML FIVE

FERMENTER TEMP: Ambient 16°C. Pitched at 20°C then dropped heat mat to 18.5°C but fermenter settled at 19°C the following morning with airlock activity. Close to 22°C 48 hours later. Mash a little higher?

BREWING NOTES:  Strike temp was spot on. Large hob, lid on, power level 2 held the mash temp perfectly. Grain absorption calculation 100% accurate. OG exactly right. My most successful brew day ever! Kegged on 14/12/24 and sealed with 12psi. My only criticism so far is that it’s a touch dark.
